And now Jack has teeth

Look closely and you can see his first two teeth on the bottom!

LJ likes food now

At 6 months Jack loves oat cereal, peas, bananas and carrots!

Cool Biker Baby

Jack wants to grow up to be a bicyclist just like his dad (and mom)!

5 months old

At 5 months old LJ loves being upside-down and throws himself around a LOT. LJ enjoys putting everything into his mouth and chewing on it. He likes to say "oh" and pet the cats. He is soooo much fun for us!

Father's Day

We visited Jack's Great Papa on Father's Day. Here is a pic of him with his cousin Lilly.

Tried and Failed

We tried giving LJ some rice cereal since he seemed ready to eat (following food, sitting up pretty well, etc.) at five months. Well after 3 days he simply refused to open his mouth. So we gave up! As you can see in this picture there is a lot of cereal on his face and he doesn't look interested.

Our First Road Trip June 5-7th.

We headed down to Quincy, IL for Bissellpalooza, aka Great Aunt Mary's 80th birthday party. LJ was a champ and only added one hour on the way down and a half hour on the way back to our trip time! He slept great in the pack-n-play and only had a couple of meltdowns during the trip. We were so pleased! (Video tour of Aunt Mary's house coming soon)

4 months old

At four months old, LJ can roll over. In addition he drools up a storm! Honestly, I don't know how he stays hydrated!

3 months

At 3 months old, LJ was ready for a trip to the zoo. And in another photo, dressed as a deer.

The Easter Bunny

Jack's first big holiday was Easter. We couldn't resist taking him to see the Easter Bunny. The bunny is a bit creepy but Jack doesn't seem to notice!

Witness the mullet

Yes that's right, LJ has a bit of mullet going on! Most of his hair is in the back causing the mullet look. It's also a bit reddish. YAY!

Bathing

After about a month and a half of spit baths, LJ is ready for the sink. He is not too fond of baths at this point!

2 months old

At two months old, LJ likes to stand, not sit, on your lap. He smiles constantly, watches us across the room and is cooing.

LJ's Baptism

On February 15th, 2009 LJ was baptized at the Cathedral of St John the Evangelist in Milwaukee WI.

The New Parents

Uncle Andy

The first time Andy EVER held a baby!

1 month old

At one month old Jack can already hold his head up pretty well and is starting to smile. He's grown leaps and bounds and is up to 12lb 11oz and 23 inches long.

The Cats

The cats seem to be adjusting to the baby ok. Dexter is kind of a baby himself and needs attention too. When we first brought LJ home we were worried about the cats trying to sleep with the baby so we locked them out of the bedroom. Well when we got up in the middle of the night to feed and change Jack, we would find Dexter sleeping on the changing table. He wouldn't even move when we put Jack down!!

First photos

LJ makes tons of great faces!

Pictures

Here are some pics of LJ (Little Jack) in the hospital with his excited family!

In the Beginning

It was another snowy day. I got up early (4 days past my due date and on the date we were to schedule an induction) to make it into work on time, despite the slow commute due to snow. I made it to work at the Medical College of WI at 7:25 am, five minutes early and my water broke. I walked from my lab over to the hospital and my doctor confirmed I was in labor. I called in the troops and then waited and waited and waited. 17 hours later, 3 1/2 of those pushing, John James Bark was born, 8lbs 7 oz, 21 inches long, at 12:30 am the next day.
